The result was a surprise to some while some expected it. Floyd Mayweather ended up defeating Conor McGregor by technical knockout before a crowd of 14,623 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday.
The performance of Conor McGregor surprised a lot of people based on the fact that he wondered into what some may call a different ground from his area of speciality. Conor who is an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star cannot be said be know more about professional boxing.
His performance even surprised Floyd Mayweather his opponent. Floyed is quoted as saying that “He's a lot better than I thought he was,"
This win has taken Floyed record to 50-0. This record meant that he has suppassed Rocky Marciano, who went 49-0.
According to CNN News online, after Saturday's win, Mayweather said this was the final fight of his career, calling McGregor "a hell of a champion."
"A win is a win, no matter how you get it," Mayweather said. "Rocky Marciano is a legend, and I look forward to going into the Hall of Fame one day."
